As we ease into the New Year, many of us find ourselves juggling expectations - our own, others’, and those imposed by the world around us. For neurodivergent thinkers, this can lead to a heightened cognitive load and even a sense of overwhelm before the year has truly begun.

Shifting focus and settling back into routines takes time and often requires a period of transition. Therefore I invite you to pause and consider what you’d like the year ahead to be like for you.

A Simple Exercise to Create Your 2025 Vision

Set aside just 10 minutes to explore these questions and bring focus and clarity to your year. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A piece of paper
  • A pen
  • Uninterrupted time

Once you’re ready, consider these three prompts:

  1. For 2025 to go just the way you'd like, it will be like what?
  2. For 2025 to go like that, you’d like to be like what?
  3. For 2025 to go like that, and for you to be like that, what support or resources will you need?

Dive Deeper: Follow-Up Questions

Want to uncover even more insights? Here are three follow-up questions to help you dig deeper:

  • What kind of ___?
  • Whereabouts is ___?
  • Is there anything else about ___?

Wherever you see a blank, add a word or phrase from your earlier reflections - or direct the question to a drawing if you’ve illustrated your thoughts.

Discover What’s Possible

Taking time to pause and reflect can bring focus, clarity, and direction to the months ahead. Whether you do this exercise on your own or share your thoughts with someone you trust, it’s a chance to create a year that works for you.

Take the Next Step

By tapping into your inner resources, coaching offers a deeply respectful process to help you clarify your thoughts, navigate challenges, and uncover hidden strengths. It’s a space for gaining self-awareness, expressing your true desires, and empowering yourself to live authentically.

If this resonates with you, why not book a free 30-minute chat? It’s a no-pressure opportunity to explore how coacing could support you in navigating challenges, discovering possibilities, and creating the life you want.

The 3 prompts above were created by Dee Berridge and Caitlin Walker in 1997 and are known as the Clean Set Up which can be used to set up anything you'd like. A meeting, training, a coaching session, your day, a holiday. Why not try applying it in different contexts and see what happens!
